How it works

From tap to receipt in under two seconds

ReceiptTap sits between the receipt your POS already produces and the shopper's phone. Payments never pass through us.

  1. 01 · Shopper · once

Link a card in the app

The card is swapped for a secure token through a tokenisation flow. ReceiptTap never stores the full card number.

  2. 02 · At the till

    Pay exactly as usual

Tap, chip or phone on your normal card terminal. ReceiptTap plays no part in the payment.

  3. 03 · Retailer POS → ReceiptTap

    Receipt data is sent

The POS sends the basket, totals, VAT, return policy and payment token to the ReceiptTap API.

  4. 04 · ReceiptTap

    Matched and delivered

If the token belongs to a ReceiptTap user, the receipt is categorised and pushed to their phone in about two seconds.

No match? There's a backup.

If the shopper hasn't linked that card, or paid by cash, the transaction is stored securely and the till shows a QR code plus a 6-character claim code. The shopper scans or types it in the app, and the receipt is theirs. Each code works once.

No card data

Only tokens and last-four digits, under PCI-aligned handling.

No payment processing

Authorisation and settlement stay with your existing provider.

No new hardware

Integrates at the POS software layer. Terminals stay untouched.
